Refinancing Auto Loan Tips

Refinancing an auto loan can be one of the best decisions you ever made. Refinancing an auto loan is similar to refinancing a house, except with one difference. With a house, you have to get it appraised before a lender will do a re-fi for you; however, refinancing an auto loan is based solely on what you owe on the existing loan.

Your primary goals to refinancing an auto loan are to lower your interest rate and lowering your monthly payments. This is a fairly new concept, mainly stemming from the way the economy is now. In the past we bought a new car, drove it off the lot and paid the monthly payments for the term of the loan, and we felt good when we made that last payment. Now it makes more sense to refinance with a lender of your choosing and negotiate for the best auto loan terms possible. A rule of thumb is that you will need to seek out another lender than the one holding your existing loan, because most lenders don’t re-fi an existing loan.

Before refinancing an auto loan, you need to check your credit record. You can ask one of the credit bureaus, Experian, Equiax, or True Credit for your credit report; it is important to check to see that your credit report is accurate. Any errors should be addressed and cleared up, and any bad debt should be cleared up to take the negative marks off your record. People with better credit ratings are approved for the lower interest rates.

When buying a new car, if you did not get a 3 percent APR, you might want to consider get some refinancing auto loan information from a well known lender. You may be able to find a refinancing auto loan with an APR 1 or more percentage points lower than you are paying with your existing loan. Before refinancing, look around for the best refinancing auto loan rates. You can go online and use a loan calculator and how much you will save by refinancing.

If you are considering a refinancing auto loan, it is best to refinance within the first two years of the loan. Automobiles depreciate in value over time; by waiting too long to refinance the lender may not be able to refinance your car because you would owe more than the car is worth.

When filling out a refinancing auto loan application, be sure the spelling on the form is correct. If you have recently married and changed your last name, you need to use the name that is on the existing loan. You can save yourself a lot of trouble, because if the spelling is not correct, or the name is not the same as what is on the original account the computer will reject your application, and your request will be denied. Refinancing an auto loan should not be difficult, and if you shop around for the best lender and do your research, you shouldn’t run into any problems.

Internet Bad Credit Auto Refinancing Loan Specialists

Unfortunately people with bad credit don’t always get the best loans with the lowest annual percentage rate (APR). It is so much easier now to apply for a bad credit auto refinancing loan online; when applying online there is no application fee either, unlike when you walk into a bank or other lending company to apply for a bad credit auto refinancing loan. Another advantage to an online lender, such as Capital One Auto Finance and others is that they may be able to offer you a lower interest rate than a car dealer can with their finance departments.

Before you make a decision on the lender that will handle your bad credit auto refinancing loan, check out several sites on the Internet to find the company that can offer you the best deal; however, before you do that, get a copy of your credit report. Mistakes are made now and then by the people that send in reports to the credit bureau. You should know before you apply for a loan to see that your credit history is correct. Taking care of bad debt is the best way to get the best interest rates; it always looks good on your credit rating that you are trying to improve your rating.

Bad credit auto refinancing loan officers are specialized in helping people with bad credit get the loans they need. This is a good opportunity for the borrower to improve his/her credit score. If you have bad credit a bad credit auto refinancing loan is an opportunity to redeem yourself. Make your payments on time every month, and in two years time your credit score will have improved significantly.

When searching for bad credit auto refinancing loan specialists, be sure you are dealing with a reputable loan company. There are predatory lenders out there ready to take advantage of your poor credit standing. Some dishonest lenders could record your credit score to be worse than it is just to jack the interest rate up; a qualified bad credit auto refinancing loan specialist will deal with you in an ethical manner.

It’s very easy to apply for a bad credit auto refinancing loan online. Just fill out the application and you will get an email back in a timely manner. During business hours you may get an email in just a few minutes. When your loan is approved, all you have to do is sign the loan contract electronically and the money will be electronically transferred to your bank account. You then pay off the first loan; and make your payments every month on time. You can also set up the payments to be taken out automatically electronically, so you don’t even have to remember to write a check every month. There are no papers to keep track of, everything is electronic. Just print out your contract after you have signed it.

Car Loan Refinancing for Students on a Budget

Students rarely have lots of money unless they come from an affluent family; they are always conscious the amount of money they have, and how expensive things are. If you are a student car loan refinancing might be a way to increase the cash flow in your bank account.

Normally one thinks of mortgage refinancing, but car loan refinancing is becoming ever more popular these days due to the rising economy. In the past car loan refinancing was a well kept secret; it just wasn’t done, because few people even knew it was possible. Students, especially, have to watch every penny to have money for school tuition, books and for the activities of daily living on campus.

Often when students and non-students alike buy a new car, they are so in love with it—and that new car smell that they sign the papers not really concerned about the rate of interest that has been added into the car loan. The next month when the first payment is due, they realize how much of a chunk their car payments are going to take out of their budget. Car loan refinancing makes good financial sense for students, because every penny saved is important to their survival while they are in college.

The good news about car loan refinancing is that you can save $100 a month give or take a few dollars depending on the amount borrowed. Car loan refinancing should take place within the first two years of the loan. Cars, unlike houses, depreciate in value over time, and if you wait too long to refinance you could owe more than the value of the car. You can’t refinance for more than the car is worth, so it is imperative that you consider car loan refinancing within the first couple of years.

Depending on your credit, your original car loan could have locked you into an 18 percent or higher interest rate. If your credit was not so good when you bought your car, you are paying a higher interest rate. Your best option is to work on improving your credit during those first two years, so that you can take on car loan refinancing at a lower rate. Clearing up your credit could lower your interest rate by more than half.

When you do it right, you can save a significant amount of money with car loan refinancing. The Internet is full of reputable lenders; it is your job to do your homework and find lending companies that will give you’re the lowest interest rate. Free rate quotes are available online. When you find the lender that will do your refinance your loan, don’t be afraid to ask questions. In fact, a rule of thumb for signing the contract is to make sure you understand the terms of the loan. Students have to pinch pennies, and refinancing can make their college years less stressful.

Every day someone is being defrauded by mortgage loan refinancing scammers. Homeowners in search of mortgage loan refinancing may get an email that appears to be from a reputable lender; the homeowner, thinking it is legitimate fills out the paperwork. Unfortunately, instead of getting their mortgage loan refinancing they were expecting, they got their bank account cleaned out.

The number of phishing scammers on the Internet is rising every day; dishonest people that would like to hack into your computer and rob your bank account are more than happy to do it. Phishing is a crime; the people that do this sort of thing masquerade as reputable businesses on the Internet. How do homeowners protect them selves from mortgage loan refinancing phishing scammers?

The best way to avoid being scammed is not to respond to unsolicited emails. Most people have more than one email account, and if you get an email that looks like it comes from your bank, but they are using an email account that is different than the one attached to your bank, this is a red flag that points directly to phishing criminal activity. They are hoping you will bite. The scammers might be masquerading as the bank you do business with, and ask you to update your account. Don’t respond to it. If your bank needed information, you would be left a message on your online account.

Secondly, if you get an email from any bank, including your own, advertising mortgage loan refinancing, steer clear of it. Don’t respond; you don’t know if it is real or not. Every day there are reports of people being scammed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). You might wonder how the scammers get your emails in the first place—they can harvest any email address from the Internet. If you are part of any Internet communities such as social networks, chat rooms or message boards you may have received unsolicited emails from criminals hoping to hook you and pull you in to their phishing scheme. Most people have anti-spam filter software built into their web-browsers that protect them from phishing scammers, but still some are able to slip through to the email inboxes of unsuspecting people every day.

Don’t fall prey to any email boasting their website that advertises a lending company. If you need mortgage loan refinancing, do your own research. Find a reputable lender online, or go to your phone book and search the yellow pages for a bank, credit union, or other lending company to service you with the mortgage loan refinancing you need. There are plenty of good reputable companies on the Net that want your business; they are easy to find through an Internet search, but never accept an offer from an unsolicited email.

Refinancing a Car Loan after Bankruptcy

Refinancing a car loan after bankruptcy can be a little tricky; don’t be discouraged though, because it can be done. Your bankruptcy needs to be discharged for at least 6 months before you try to borrow money for a car loan. More than likely it will take 6 months or so before you can buy anything on credit again, but start with small purchases made on credit and build your credit reputation. It is important to always make your payments on time without any missed or late payments, because they are reported to the credit bureau.

Before refinancing a car loan go onto the Internet and research the lenders; choose the lender that will give you the best quote. Because you have a bankruptcy in your past you may have to pay a higher interest rate than someone without a bankruptcy in their past; but a good lender may be able to lower the fees. A good sub-prime lender will try to make refinancing a car loan after bankruptcy as painless as possible.

If you own your home, you may be able to tap into its equity as a cash-out loan. You would be able to borrow enough for refinancing a car loan and have cash in the bank for emergencies, home improvements or to keep in the bank drawing interest for a nest egg later on. This home equity loan can help to reestablish your creditworthiness after a bankruptcy. In some cases, a home equity loan can be a good alternative—especially if you have other financial issues other than refinancing a car loan. Once you have solidly reestablished your credit after bankruptcy you will never again have a problem finding a lender interested in refinancing a car loan for you.

Lenders are more inclined to approve applications for refinancing a car loan if the bankruptcy was a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, rather than a Chapter 7. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the assets of the individual are taken away and liquidated; however, a Chapter 13 bankruptcy is more of a consolidation. You keep your assets and pay for them over time, and this kind of bankruptcy shows the lender that you wanted to pay your bills. Just the same, a bankruptcy of either type will negatively impact your credit history for up to 10 years in some cases. Finding a lender to help you with refinancing a car loan might be difficult, but it isn’t impossible.

The best way to find lenders to assist you in a loan is to type the words refinancing a car loan after bankruptcy into your search engine and you will find the websites that cater to people that have a bankruptcy in their backgrounds. Don’t be discouraged; many lenders have loan specialists that specialize in working with people who are interested in refinancing a car loan after a bankruptcy has impacted their credit.

Predatory Bad Credit Car Loan Refinancing Companies

All too often people search for bad credit car loan refinancing and they go to the wrong places. They go to lender after lender and get turned down, so when then find an ad in the newspaper or magazine they apply and get financing. Many of the lenders that specialize in bad credit car loan refinancing are legitimate reputable lenders, but occasionally a borrower is scammed by a predatory lender.

Predatory lenders are those that do business in a crooked way. Some may record your credit score inaccurately on purpose to lock you into a higher interest rate. They’ve been known to call in the loan, demanding payment in full if you miss one payment, or they send a repossession company after it. Unfortunately, you are at their mercy, and you can’t do a thing to stop it, because by missing one payment you broke the terms of the contract you signed.

The terms were in black and white hidden in all the legalese of the small print on your contract; however, you just listened to the overview given by the loan officer that approved your loan, without ever reading the fine print yourself, nor did you take the time to let an experienced contract lawyer look at the fine print. Unfortunately more than a few consumers get hoodwinked by shady business people that claim to be bad credit car loan refinancing experts.

There are predatory lenders popping up all over the United States and Canada that boast offers of bad credit car loan refinancing. The best way to know if they are legitimate lenders is to go online and check them out with the Better Business Bureau. You can also go to the Google search engine and put the name of their company / complaints and then hit your enter key. If there are any complaints of the company you are searching they will show up in the reports that dissatisfied consumers filed against them. Unfortunately, one reason so many consumers are taken advantage of is that they are in a hurry to get their bad credit car loan refinancing out of the way, so they can get on with life.

There are plenty of reputable lenders out there with bad credit car loan refinancing lenders. Take your time and search for one that has been in business for a long time, and make sure it is a well known company. You might try one lender and get turned down for due to your bad credit, but don’t give up. You can go to the yellow pages of your phone company and call all the lenders there, or you can go on the Internet and type in the words bad credit car loan refinancing, and you will see pages of website listings that advertise their ability to give you a bad credit car loan refinancing package. When you purchase a loan like this, you will pay for it. The APR will be higher than a loan catering to someone with good credit. You don’t have to be locked in forever; when you make your payments on time every month for about 2 years, you can then ask to be refinanced again to secure a lower interest rate—and then you can be on your way to a better credit score in the future.

Home Loan Refinancing Tips for Saving Money

When refinancing you will incur closing costs, just like you did when you took out your present mortgage. You can’t avoid costs at closing, but you might be able to save money at closing by shopping around to different lenders. Some lenders make you pay for points at closing, but by doing your research, you may be able to find a lender that does not require you to pay points, with home loan refinancing, which could make a difference of thousands of dollars you could save by not paying for points. There is nothing wrong with searching out several reputable mortgage brokers to see who will find you the best deal.

You may be able to get home loan refinancing without any closing costs at all; however, by doing so you may be adding many thousands of dollars onto the term of your loan, by paying a higher interest rate. If you opt for home loan refinancing with no costs at closing, you need to look your contract over very carefully to see just how much extra you will be paying. It may be to your benefit to pay a few thousand at closing, rather than pay tens of thousands over the next 15 to 30 years.

Over the years homeowners may pile up a mountain of debt with car payments, credit cards, and other monthly debts. You might consider home loan refinancing to consolidate existing debt. Interest rates are still fairly low; therefore, home loan refinancing makes good financial sense. Borrowing on the equity of your home can pay off those credit cards that are charging a whopping 21 percent interest or more with home loan refinancing for less than 8 percent interest, saving yourself thousands of dollars. Another way to save money by borrowing on your home equity is that you may be able to deduct the interest paid from your income taxes.

A point to remember when consolidating student loans and other debts is that if the interest you are paying is lower than you can get with home mortgage refinancing, you are better off not consolidating those debts, because you will have lost money on the deal instead of gaining. While the interest rates are low is the best time to consider home loan refinancing to pay off all the debt that has a higher interest rate.

Saving money with home loan refinancing can be done by choosing a shorter term to your loan. It is true that your payments will be more in a 15 or a 20 year loan as compared to a 30 year loan, but the money saved over the life of the loan will be many thousands of dollars. The type of interest rate is vitally important to saving money; an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) interest rate fluctuates periodically during the life of the loan. If the interest rate goes up your payment will go up. Your best choice would be to lock into a low fixed rate mortgage interest rate so that your payments will be the same over the whole term of the loan. Doing your homework before taking out home loan financing is the only way to get a good loan that saves you the most money over time.

Automobile Loan Refinancing and You

Automobile loan refinancing is a smart move if you want to lower your APR; by refinancing you can borrow money to pay your present car loan off and then pay off the new loan, and save money in the process. If your credit is good you won’t have a problem getting automobile loan refinancing; and if your credit is not so good, you still will be able to refinance if you go to the right lender, because there are lenders that specialize in bad credit loans.

Automobile loan refinancing is all about you; you wouldn’t refinance unless you stood to gain from it. If everything was perfect with your original car loan, you wouldn’t think of refinancing; however, most car buyers don’t know what they are getting into when they finance their car through a dealership. They will be locked into a very high APR, and by the time the first payment is do, they often wish they had not been in such a hurry to finance that way. It is better to secure your financing somewhere else, but since most people don’t, they will either continue to pay the existing loan off, or they will do the smart thing and refinance.

You cannot refinance if you are upside-down on your loan, meaning that you owe more than the car is worth. To avoid being turned down for automobile loan refinancing, be sure to refinance within the first two years of your present car loan. There is an exception to the two year rule though, if you are presently upside-down on your present loan, you can make extra payments, so that that the amount owed on the loan is less than the car is worth. Once your car is worth more than you owe you can then refinance, no matter how old your car is, as long as it isn’t older than a 1998 model car.

Automobile loan refinancing is not like home refinancing. With a home you can tap into the equity of your home and borrow up to 80 percent of the equity, but not so with a car. A car depreciates in value once it is driven off the car lot. You cannot refinance for more than $7,500.

Although bad credit isn’t too much of a problem with automobile loan refinancing, you would be only qualified for a subprime interest rate, which is much higher than prime. A bad credit history will follow you around for 7 years, and a bankruptcy can stay on your credit history for up to 10 years. To avoid a subprime interest rate, it is always helpful to clean up your credit before applying for an automobile refinance loan. Though your credit might have been marred when you took out your original loan, you can improve your credit rating by making your payments on your new automobile loan refinancing, on time every month, this means don’t be late or miss a payment even once. By improving your credit score, you increase your chances of getting a lower interest rate, and that’s a good thing.
